The motion graphic I have designed is a trailer for the second season of Mr. Robot, a television series focused on a young black hat hacker named Elliot. The show is very intense as it follows the young psychotic hacker trapped by the manacles of his fathers death. This gave me the initial idea for the graphic. I wanted to keep it simple yet effective that is why i stuck with the minimalistic theme. The trailers main focus is the mask, hackers use disguises such as this one (the one Elliot has in the show) to hide their identity from the public. I used at glitch effect on both the image and the text. This glitch effect flashes in and out changing the colour scheme of the mask and text to RGB as it does so. The music used in the background is an original track I produced for the making of this motion graphic.

This album artwork was designed specifically for the advertisement and promotion of my music on social media and across the web. I began designing this cover with the preconceived notion that I wanted bold simplicity. The image in the  centre was designed to replicate a spinning Triangle using a very contrast image of space and stars. The popping and bold colours along with the abstract image compliment my unique style of music perfectly. As you can see the text I have selected again follows the abstract and spacial theme of the rest of the cover. Many aspects of this cover were quite challenging throughout the creative process. The image in the centre of the cover was the most challenging part as it required many attempts and various ideas make it work. I started with a basic triangle and continued developing my idea for many days until i got the shape and colour scheme i wanted. The target audience of this album artwork and music is youth and young adults. It is also targeted at anyone interested in a new and refreshing combination of Hip-Hop, NU-Disco, and Bass House. Although this assignment still needs some modification This album artwork turned out exactly how I wanted and envisioned.

Good typography is partly down to creative intuition, that being said it’s impossible to become skilled in typography without understanding the basic rules of the medium. Intuitive artists today experiment with various fonts to achieve inspiring, unusual and beautiful results that connect the image they are displaying to a specific theme or concept. In the photos shown above, we get a taste of effective typography in advertisement. The first photo is an advertisement for the Discovery Channel full of animals all centred around one light source. The large text used in this image that says “life” is the main focus of this image. the sun and focal point of the image radiate from the text in this image making it effective in displaying the theme of this image. The other two images are also great examples of effective typography. This images use bold and harsh text to display the serious ideas associated with these images.

Before this weeks lecture on Digital Media I knew that this was the media that reaches our eyes and ears every day. Media Production and everything that encompases Digital Media has always been something that has intreaged me. I am a music producer and live performer. I have also shot, edited, and created many photos and videos during various travel experinces I have had.

This course seems especilly useful to students in RTA programs. In order to produce any form of impactful media you must be able to create and develop your ideas through professional software. You must also know how to develop these ideas to best fit your target audience. Digital Media Production will give RTA students the backbone and core concepts needed to Produce Media at a high level. In this course I am most exited to develop my skills is Adobe Aftereffects as I would like to be able to create short films and advertisements at a professional level. Eventually I will transfer these skills into drone videography as this is my is to create media and short films for Kitesurfing/Surfing companies, by the end of this course i believe this goal will be possible.
